Such cooperation is purposed to create the incentive motivational mechanism for the university’s students, post-graduates and young scientists to develop scientific and innovative projects, get skills to commercialize and bring them to life.

The Memorandum was signed by Vladimir Kryvko, CIG’s Managing Partner, and Yevgeny Sokol, the University’s Principal.

During the meeting, the Principal emphasized the importance of such cooperation as it provides financial support and mentorship to students in development of their projects.

"Sadly, today our scientists are lacking something very important-- to conduct experiments and create prototypes. It is important to financially assist and create other opportunities and environment for students and scientists to implement and commercialize their intellectual property projects. Today, this is the only path to develop science", said Yevgeny Sokol.

Vladimir Kryvko, CIG's Managing Partner, emphasized that today it is very important for Ukrainian inventors to get experience and skills in commercializing their projects: "Our scholarship includes financing and expert assistance that will allow to further develop and enhance projects. Ambitious and driven people with the vast body of knowledge need to have access to expert opinion. We have rather extensive connections with investors and entrepreneurs around the world, and we are willing to share them."

He also noted the importance of the participants getting developing teamwork skills. "It is preferable that a project has a team of at least 2-3 people who have different roles (for example project management, programming, hardware, sales). This will allow not only create a product but also to promote it in the market and develop teamwork skills. It is also important to make the project as functional model,"- said Vladimir Kryvko.

"For us, a joint educational program is an opportunity to contribute into environment favorable for implementing technology projects, commercializing promising ideas, forming mature IT market in Ukraine. We want to revive the science, to keep talented young people in the field, to break the outsourcing-based system so that they could convert their ideas into production and business. Our students generate thousands of interesting ideas and developments that could turn into big businesses and bring scientific and financial success to its creator, the university and to Ukrainian economy", Vladimir Kryvko stressed.

To remind, in June 2018, CIG launched the educational scholarship program CIG R&D Lab in Odessa National Polytechnic University. The program’s winner, who had been working on his project for 10 months and supported with the scholarship and mentoring from CIG, will receive 500,000 hryvnias to further develop his project.
