The second stage of CIG R&D LAB took place in NTU “KhPI” on October, 9th, where 5 team-fellows were selected.
CIG R&D LAB – is the educational scholarship program of Chernovetskyi Investment Group, which for the second year in a row was held in Odesa National Polytechnic University, and this year, it was launched at the National Technical University "Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute". During 10 months, project participants will receive an expertise and mentor support, as well as the monthly scholarship from CIG. At the end of the academic year, the Competition Committee will select the best project, whose team will receive the funds for its further development.
Overall, 24 project applications were submitted, 17 of which were invited to participate in the second stage, based on the Competition Commission assessment. As a result of a short presentation (pitching) round, which took place on the 9th of October 2018 in NTU “KhPI”, 5 participants will continue competing in the project:
1. Quadcopter model for power line towers monitoring (presented by Kyrylo Zinchenko)
2. Development of the production technology for luminescent paving slabs (presented by Kateryna Bilohubkina)
3. Energy management of storage batteries system model (presented by Bohdan Styslo)
4. Reconstruction and modernization of the heat energy sector of Kharkiv city model (presented by Pavlo Sytnykov)
5. TourHack - a mobile application for tourists (presented by Eduard Aleksieiev)

A member of the Expert Committee, CIG's investment manager Stanislav Zolotukhin, for his part, emphasized that the main goal of CIG R&D LAB is to support talented Ukrainian students who are motivated to develop their own business in Ukraine. "By working on your own projects, you create additional value for your country, invest in yourself and your family. That is why we focus our attention on the development of hardware and software products, hoping that the number of those in Ukraine will increase. We are searching for future businessmen who despite being students can already create and develop a commercially successful product”.
This year, CIG R&D LAB is launching a partnership with NTU "KhPI", and we hope that the selected scholarship projects will lead a truly successful year together with us ", - expert added. Admittedly, in the 2017-2018 academic year, a pilot educational and scholarship programme CIG R&D LAB was implemented in cooperation with Odesa National Polytechnic University. The aims of CIG R&D LAB is to establish a mechanism for motivation to create science and innovation developments, attaining skills for ideas commercialisation, as well as for training algorithms for innovation projects implementation.
